Intersect by Lexus / NYC
Business Journal – “Inform Ventures helped create the Intersect by Lexus in New York…”:
Lexus announced today that it will open its third “Intersect by Lexus” location in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. The creative ode to fashion, art, food, music and technology will include a café, restaurant and event space managed by restaurateur Danny Meyer’s Union Square Events.
The location, which is set to open at 412 W. 14th St. in mid-2017, will be the first Intersect by Luxury to feature a restaurant space, the luxury automaker said in a release, adding that the eatery will also feature “a revolving cast of innovative and emerging global chefs.”
Neither a retail store nor a dealership, the 16,500-square-foot boutique venue is more about creating an experience, and of course, helping to spotlight the Lexus brand for affluent consumers. It will include a lounge and a multi-use gallery space that can host cars or exhibitions. Other locations for the concept are in Dubai and Tokyo [see slideshow above], which like the New York space were designed by acclaimed interior designer Masamichi Katayama of Wonderwall Inc.
Lexus, a division of Japanese automaker Toyota, has been moving further into the luxury hybrid auto space in recent years, brandishing its image as a technology leader.
Inform Ventures helped create the Intersect by Lexus in New York, and is assisting in providing programming ideas for the space.
